Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) commends Bill Spadea, a candidate for New Jersey governor, for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. As a Pledge signer, Spadea has made the written commitment to New Jersey voters that, if elected, he will oppose and vote against all tax hikes.

“I applaud Bill Spadea for making this important commitment to New Jersey taxpayers,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. “New Jerseyans have been crushed by some of the highest taxes in the nation, including the worst average property tax burden. It is time to stop driving up the taxes that are driving people out of New Jersey. It is imperative candidates sign the pledge and commit to oppose all tax hikes.”

The Taxpayer Protection Pledge has been signed by 17 sitting governors, nearly 1,000 state legislators, 190 members of the U.S. House, and nearly half of the U.S. Senate.

Other Taxpayer Protection Pledge signers in New Jersey include Congressman Chris Smith, Congressman Tom Kean Jr., and numerous members of New Jersey legislature.

New candidates sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge regularly. For the most up-to-date information on these races or any others, please visit the ATR Pledge Database.

The 2025 New Jersey Republican Primary is set for June 10.
