Taxpayers celebrate one-year anniversary of One Big Beautiful Bill Act
President Donald Trump campaigned on the promise to cut taxes for American households across the board. Data from the U.S. Department of the Treasury confirms the promise has been kept thanks to the enactment of the Trump tax cuts, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
97% of taxpayers got a tax cut — According to the Treasury Department, 97% of tax filers received a tax cut during the most recent filing season which amounts to over 141 million Americans.
Tax cuts overwhelmingly went to working families — Treasury data shows that 96% of the filers who received a tax cut earned less than $200,000 annually.
The main beneficiaries of President Trump’s tax cuts are working families and middle-class Americans. In fact, almost 70% of the filers receiving tax cuts earned less than $100,000.
Tax filers earning between $100,000 and $200,000 received an average tax cut of about $1,250.
Tax filers earning between $50,000 and $100,000 received an average tax cut of roughly $815.
Americans received bigger tax refunds — According to the Senate Committee on Finance, Americans received an average tax refund of nearly $3,300 this filing season, an increase of more than 11 percent compared to the previous year.
