While progressives lobby President Biden for a commutation, there are so many victims that they are still being notified by the IRS

Here are the facts of the largest theft of private tax files in IRS history and the reasons the thief does not deserve a pardon or commutation:

  1. Biden-appointed IRS chief Daniel Werfel testified that the thief stole “tens of thousands” of Americans’ private tax files.

  2. Two federal prosecutors estimate the number of victims at “over 50,000” and as many as 70,000.

  3. Before details of the theft became public, the Biden administration and IRS leadership kept suggesting to congress that the IRS was somehow not the source of the stolen information. You can see a video compilation of these statements here and a written compilation here. As it turns out, the thief indeed breached IRS systems.

  4. Stolen information of victims includes “not just their income and taxes, but also their investments, stock trades, gambling winnings and even the results of audits.” The progressive group that the thief gave the data to described the stolen files as “millions of rows of data. And it’s not just tax returns but it also includes the schedules that go into those returns. And the schedules cover things like their self-employment and partnerships and stock trading and things like that.”

  5. There are so many victims that the IRS is STILL notifying them to this day via letter.

  6. The IRS thief was NOT charged for the theft of Donald Trump’s tax returns, because the statute of limitations had already been reached for that particular theft.

  7. A group of progressives is now lobbying President Biden for a commutation and trying to turn the thief into a martyr when in fact the thief got off easy.

  8. The thief was charged with a separate, later theft within the statute of limitations, a theft which victimized the tens of thousands of Americans as noted above.

  9. Despite committing tens of thousands of crimes, the thief was only charged with ONE count.

  10. Even the Biden-appointed judge was aghast at the fact that DOJ only brought ONE count. In court, judge Ana Reyes said: “The fact that he is facing one felony count, I have no words for.”

  11. Judge Reyes sentenced the thief to five years. The sentence amounts to less than an hour per victim. The overall punishment is a wrist slap (with blame going to DOJ and not the judge) given the fact there are at least 50,000 victims.

  12. A DOJ sentencing memorandum noted the extensive harm to victims: “The human impact of Defendant’s crimes is enormous. Worse, it appears that the harm may continue indefinitely.”

13. The progressive group of tax voyeurs trafficking the stolen private tax data released its first report coincidentally (cough) on the very same day congressional Democrats launched a major tax increase campaign.

14. Because the progressive group found that high income Americans do indeed pay a significant quantity of taxes, the group contrived an artificial metric called “true tax rate” — which asserted the individuals should have owed tax on unrealized capital gains. Again coincidentally (cough) Democrats including Kamala Harris tried to impose an unrealized gains tax at the same time the progressive group was trafficking the stolen personal information.

15. The progressive group trafficking the data tried to justify its publication of stolen personal information by lamenting the “lavish” lifestyles of some of the victims.

16. In 2024 federal investigators found that IRS systems can STILL be breached using the same tactics deployed by the IRS thief. Details are available in a report from the official watchdog of the IRS — the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration.

What message would a Biden commutation send to future prospective thieves with access to government systems filled with your private information?

–Steal the files of as many people as you want to, because you will only be charged with one count.

-You will receive a pardon or commutation if the theft is done in service to progressive political goals.

Stay tuned for updates.
