Where are the checks and balances, our founders put forth. This administration is doing end runs around our Constitutional law and threatening those in business and government, who don't go along. It seems the Chicago Mob is entrenched now in D.C. and the worst is yet to come unless the American middle class, wakes up and throws everyone out who digresses from our founders vision of FREEDOM from oppressive government.
>> robert harbold jr Saturday, July 4, 2009 12:41 AM

Trashing the constitution is nothing new. The constitution was trashed by the Bush Administration as they spied on Americans without proper warrants, telecommuncation companies that did not play along were strong armed by the administration.
>> Mikey Saturday, July 4, 2009 2:28 PM

Yes I agree with that, as a matter of fact I complained to my representatives in Congress, about the enactment of the Patriot Act which has little top do with patriotism, we have laws in place that are constitutionally sound, they could have used, each succeeding administration talks the talk, but walks us further away from the values, that many good men have died to protect. , we have been directed away from the founders vision for many generations now. Free people do better than repressed people, whether it be financially or by draconian laws, that are being enacted without being read.

I hate to say this BUT Nothing is going to change till we do what they are doing in Iran..We all should go to Washington and protest and scream..Thats the only was they MIGHT hear us...Its clear to me that all the calls and playing around on the phone and mailing letters to these dumb a$$e$ we got up there isnt going to work..I admiar the people of Iran for standing up for what they think is right,,,ITS HIGH TIME WE DID THE SAME THING...

All administrations and all Supreme courts since Geo Washington's time have been trying to get around the Constitution. It takes eternal vigilance, over all our elected public "servants" to keep government honest. But when the newspapers and TV news suck up to the Admin, We the People are left without a voice. Hence the Tea Parties.....
>> Nic Cols Sunday, July 5, 2009 11:00 PM

Mikes1joker I agree 100% Let's all Go to DC and "Let's Roll" "Politicians are the same as diapers, they need to be changed often for the same reason." Mark Twain
>> Debbie Tuesday, July 7, 2009 11:41 AM

Perhaps a million person march on Washington while they are in session, would get their attention. if not, then?
>> bob h Tuesday, July 7, 2009 12:11 PM

"....if not then? Why not 5 million person + March With over 10 million un employed, I do not believe this would be hard to accomplish. Especially if each of us carried our "Bill of Rights" and the "Declaration of Independence" as this same reason is why we fought off the British 2 centuries ago. *********NEWS FLASH*********** "78,000 new jobs created since Jan 20, 2009. All govt employees." I truly believe these were the only jobs created in the same period and if not, the largest percentage compared to the private sectors.
>> Debbie Tuesday, July 7, 2009 12:29 PM

I'm not an organizer, or I would try to organize this myself, there are a lot of people hurting because of these unresponsive "POLITICIANS" we voted into office time after time, because we have to pick the lesser of two evils.
>> bob h Tuesday, July 7, 2009 12:41 PM

Dear Bob... neither am I an organizer, yet the web could help us all organize effectively. Yet even more effective would be 220 million taxpayers neglecting to file any further returns until this/these matters are addressed by "WE THE PEOPLE" from our so-called spine-less reps who have their agenda first and not ours.
>> Debbie Tuesday, July 7, 2009 1:08 PM

Dear Debbie.....I'm still learning how to use a computer, so I may not be as literate as you in spreading the word. I'm a 69 year old Viet-Nam vet, who fears for my country, these last several generations, since then!! So I will try, but we need folks who are more literate than I, to help with this.!
>> bob h Tuesday, July 7, 2009 1:22 PM

Hi Bob.. It would probably be frivolous as not to many would participate. Yet, the current path this govt is on, they will eventually take over everything anyway. The March on Washington is still the best idea. I to am not computer literate to organize anything, we would need the media, which of course would probably denounce us.
>> Debbie Tuesday, July 7, 2009 1:35 PM

I believe the best thing we all could do at this time is support our local communities and their basic needs so we don't end up like California. Evenso, the govt is moving in such a way, the entire country could end up being in the same situation.
>> Debbie Tuesday, July 7, 2009 1:42 PM

Bob h I would do my best to help you anyway I can....BUT you know the 1st thing that the goverment will say is"You can get a permet for this kind of march" But I think that the founding fathers would have told Great Britin to take that permit and stick it We are marching way,,,And so should we in the truest belive in freedom...Oh yea Freedom isnt free,,,LET GO!!!
>> Mikes1joker Wednesday, July 8, 2009 1:15 AM

To respond to Mikey and Robert. Have you personally seen any of your freedoms violated by the Patriot Act? I didn't think so.. you know why? Because the act does not apply to regular joe blows like you. I am so sick of you people out there who think the Patriot Act has somehow made you less safe and violated your freedoms. If this were so, don't you think the liberal media would have picked up on it and ran with it? ESPECIALLY if an American citizen had been picked up unjustly? Obviously neither of you know anyone in the intelligence community. If you did, you would know they are so ham tied in what they can and can't do, it's almost impossible to keep this country safe.
>> Janice Wednesday, July 8, 2009 10:23 AM

Hi Guys.. now we are hearing only "10% of the 787 billion made it to the states.." if that is true, where is the rest of it? I found this from a guy whom practically predicted at least half of what is happening now and what will happen. http://tinyurl.com/mcbuca
>> Debbie Wednesday, July 8, 2009 10:28 AM

As to how to fix this? Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Rahm Emanuel, et al need to know they will not have jobs in the very near future. If you read the AP article on how Nancy sat in her arctic white suit threatening Democrats to vote for the cap and trade bill, you would realize there are Democrats sitting on the fence but they don't realize yet they're going down with the ship of Pelosi's gang. That needs to be rectified. Once the politicians up there realize, especially the Democrats, that the populous is not in love with them anymore and they will be losing their power.... they will shape up.. if not, we vote them out.
>> Janice Wednesday, July 8, 2009 10:34 AM

Hi Janice... I believe you are not only 100% correct yet they have all passed the point of no return.. There are several in both parties that need replacing, yet mostly Pelosi followers. Did you know about 41 reps/senators & Pelosi own shares of stocks in numerous companies that will benefit directly with the Cap/Trade bill? We've already sent in a "written request of disclosure from them" prior to any debate in the senate. Did you also know there are more Polar Bears now than ever and that another 250,000 sq miles of ice has been discovered under the surface, not previously detected by satellites? Seems their only agenda is their wealth and no one elses. GOD BLESS AMERICA
>> Debbie Wednesday, July 8, 2009 10:55 AM

Jan You were the 1st to bring up the Patriot Act.I could cair less about that now,we have bigger things to worry about like the your tax dollars being spent like there is no tomorow..And its going to be our kids and grand kids that will have to pick up the bill. Also our jobs that are being lost.(250,000+a month)By their own estimation, the stimulus isn’t working as planned:The administration’s own estimates said that if the stimulus would pass, the unemployment rate would never rise above 8%.Its peak would be around 7.9% around the end of the year.Well It’s at 8.5% already, and most economists seem to it’s getting worse before it gets better.

Definition of insanity- Doing the same thing and expecting different results. The previous Bush admin was not perfect, yet kept us safe, plus 4 times warned us all of the housing & credit collapse, (can be found right now in youtube) 2001, 2003 2004, 2006, yet congress didn't want to regulate anything. Patriot Act? If you are not conversing with those on watch lists and a legal resident, you haven't nothing to worry about. Stimulus again? Gimme a break! It's insanity! Copy Reagan in '82 cut taxes and Bush "Read My Lips" no new taxes and we prospered. Maybe current legislators need to research.
>> Debbie Wednesday, July 8, 2009 5:29 PM

They are making plans to gather at local congressional offices on July 17 2009 as an extension of the July 4 tea parties. And there is also a permit been issued for September 12, 2009 in D.C. protest, but I can't remember the site. Perhaps someone has all the pertinent information, and could share it.

California is going to legalize marijuana in the next 2 years. They will then become the grower for the 49 states that keep it illegal. When this happens, it will be another gold rush in California. High paying jobs, and even higher business opportunities.
>> Mikey Monday, July 20, 2009 11:57 AM

Marijuana? I believe Pelosi is already smokin it. She has lost all common sense and her stocks will prosper greatly if the Cap & Tax bill is passed. She needs "insight trading investigation" asap! What ever happened to "drug testing all elected officials?"
>> Debbie Monday, July 20, 2009 2:07 PM

Good thing Pelosi didn't retire from Haliburton, she might had started an unneccesary war to help out her former company. Now that would be crazy.
>> Josco Monday, July 20, 2009 8:15 PM

Did you know about 41 reps/senators & Pelosi own shares of stocks in numerous companies that will benefit directly with the Cap/Trade bill? Call your reps demanding an investigation 202.224.3121 They are OUR SERVANTS, not visa versa!!!!! In other news, saw a post where people are organizing Tea Party April/2010 on the DC Mall in which they will either "mock-shred" their IRS returns or actually shred them. Bet that gets some attention.
>> Debbie Monday, July 20, 2009 8:21 PM

Saw where the Soldier refused to deploy to Afghan due to NO Legal birth certificate from Obama. The soldier won the case in court. My question is not where is the birth certificate, my question is "What is Obama trying to hide?"
>> Debbie Monday, July 20, 2009 8:28 PM

Debbie, why don't you help us out and list the stocks that will  benefit from Cap & Trade.  I would like to invest in those companies.  You might as well; the bill is a done deal.  Like Jim Cramer says,  America is Government by the corporation, for the corporation. I did  great with drug companies when Republicans passed the Medicare  Prescription drug benefit and wrote into the law that Medicare could  not haggle for lower prices.
